Quarantine Guidelines

If you have recently come into contact with someone who has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus or one of its variants (Delta or Omicron), you are required to observe the following guidelines:

If you: Are vaccinated and have received a booster shot, OR received the Pfizer vaccine within the past 5 months (no booster), OR received the Moderna vaccine within the past 6 months (no booster), OR received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine within the past 2 months:

  • Wear a mask around others for 10 days.
  • Test on day 5, if possible.
  • If you develop symptoms, get a test and stay home.

If you: Received the Pfizer vaccine more than 5 months ago (no booster), OR received the Moderna vaccine more than 6 months ago (no booster), OR received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine more than 2 months ago, OR are unvaccinated:

  • Stay home for 5 days. After that continue to wear a mask around others for 5 additional days.
  • If unable to quarantine, you must wear a mask for 10 days.
  • Test on day 5 if possible
  • If you develop symptoms, get a test and stay home.

Additional information is available on updated CDC and San Diego Countyquarantine and isolation guidelines. Our current requirement to wear face coverings at all times within USD buildings will remain in effect and aligns with these new recommendations.
