Professor Dorothy O’Hagan has more than 30 years of experience leading and managing successful health care projects and teams. Prior to joining the USD Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science as a full-time faculty member, Professor O'Hagan was the Senior Director of Clinical and Health Information Management Systems at Rady Children's Hospital - San Diego (RCHSD). In her years at RCHSD, Professor O’Hagan served in many roles including Coding Manager, Cancer Registrar, Hospital Billing and Collections Manager, EMR Systems Analyst, Chief Privacy Officer, Director of Health Information, and Interoperability and Documentation Excellence.

Professor O’Hagan’s graduate coursework in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from USD complements her background in health care by giving her experience in Board Leadership and Governance. Through her graduate coursework, Professor O’Hagan has provided consulting services for organizations such as The United Way of San Diego. Professor O'Hagan is currently working on her PhD at USD in the School of Leadership and Education.
