Black P.E.E.R. Mentor Program

Transfer Scholastic Assistant
- What: The Transfer Scholastic Assistant (TSA) Program fosters a successful and positive educational and developmental experience for all transfer students. TSAs are mentors for new transfer students, helping with both their social and academic transitions. Each TSA is connected to a particular TLC course, and the group of TSAs is seen as a collective resource for the new incoming transfer cohort. They serve as a liaison between transfer students and TLC Faculty, collaborate closely with other TSAs and faculty to put on co-curricular programming, and help new students navigate and find their place at USD.

Summer Bridge Program
- What: The Student Support Services Summer Bridge Program is an intensive one-week program that will help incoming first-year and transfer students transition into life at USD. Participants of the Summer Bridge Program will also be admitted into the Student Support Services Program.
- Benefits of Summer Bridge include but are not limited to
- Familiarize yourself with the USD campus before all other students arrive for Ole Weekend!
- Create meaningful relationships with incoming and transfer SSS students
- Pair up with an SSS mentor who will help guide you through your first year at USD
- Engage with USD professors in an encouraging environment
- Learn the "unwritten rules" of college and the tools to thrive and graduate
- Check into the residence halls early
- Participate in social events designed to introduce you to the vibrant and distinct culture of San Diego
