​SOLES Alumni Class Notes

Congratulations to all of our alumni on these exciting updates!

Anne (Carey) Hensel '78 (BA) '80 (MEd) retired from her position as special education director in the Julian Union School District in October 2017. 

Mary Ann Thomson '81 (BA) '82 (MEd) retired after teaching in the San Diego Unified School District for almost 40 years. She is loving retired life!

Mark Sperrazzo '85 (BA) has worked in the Diocese of San Diego for 33 years. He is currently the principal of St. Therese Academy in San Diego.

Alfredo Silva '94 (BA) is the chair of the foreign language department at Larue County High School in Kentucky. He also teaches Spanish  and is the co-offensive coordinator and quarterback coach for the football team.

Jamie Rios '95 (MEd) is the regional director for Partners in Special Education and was a special education teacher for 19 years with the San Diego Unified School District.

Ileana Ovalle '06 (MA) holds the position of Principal, Privacy and Regulatory, in Google's Global Trust and Safety department.

Aini Fang '14 (MEd) has been active in education since graduating from SOLES. She says "I brought what I have learned in USD and applied it into my teaching practice. I have a passion for immersion education and inquiry-based learning in elementary school".

Alexandria Morgan '14 (MA) started a private practice, Her Healing, in Los Angeles.

Ashley Rodriguez Thompson '16 (MA) was elected co-president of the San Diego Leadership Alliance with the mission of developing progressive leaders for San Diego. "I utilize many of the skills I learned in the SOLES Nonprofit Management and Leadership program in this role, collaborating with board members to craft a vision and execute our mission."

Alison Filipski '18 (MA) is currently a Mental Health Specialist at San Diego Youth Services. She works in the Prevention and Intervention program. 

Justina Trusevich '18 (MEd) is a math teacher at Del Lago Academy in Escondido, CA.
