This is your USD News Minute.

OLÉ! Weekend begins this Saturday with new and returning students moving back into dorms on campus to begin the fall semester. And, if you’re looking for items for your dorm, be sure to check out Torero Thrift – a new sustainable initiative created by students. You’ll be able to shop for free, gently used items like lamps, rugs and furniture donated by other Toreros during move-out weekend. Torero Thrift will be set up in the law school parking lot from Saturday, August 30 to Monday, September 1st.

USD's Year of Wellness will continue as students head back to campus. Students have access to USD's resources for emotional well-being and mental health – and the new Palomar Health Student Wellness Center. Visit the Be Well USD website to learn more as you begin the new semester.

On Saturday, USD hosted the KPBS San Diego Book Festival on our campus. The day was filled with reading activities for book lovers of all ages, including books and panels with USD professors who are also authors.

Also, don’t miss the first football game during Olé Weekend vs. Cal Poly this Saturday at 5 p.m., or the USD Women's Soccer team this Sunday at 5 p.m., both at Torero Stadium.

As always, thank you for watching and we'll see you next week.
