Lindsay J. Cropper Memorial Writers Series: Kelli Jo Ford

Kelli Jo Ford’s debut novel-in-stories Crooked Hallelujah was longlisted for the PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel, The Story Prize, the Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction, The Dublin Literary Award, and The Center for Fiction's First Novel Prize. She is the recipient of honors and awards such as an NEA Literature Fellowship, The Paris Review’s Plimpton Prize, a Creative Capital Award, and a Native Arts & Cultures Foundation Artist Fellowship. She teaches writing at the Institute of American Indian Arts and is a citizen of Cherokee Nation.

The Lindsay J. Cropper Memorial Writers Series and the Lindsay J. Cropper Center for Creative Writing were established in 2004 by Barrie and Dorothy Cropper in memory of their daughter Lindsay, an English major, aspiring writer and alumna of USD. The purpose of the center is to foster the appreciation and practice of Creative Writing at the University of San Diego by hosting an annual writers series, sponsoring writing workshops and granting awards for Creative Writing.
