Professional Experience

Since 2003, Serano has worked in the United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of California as an Assistant United States Attorney. She is currently assigned to the General Crimes Trial Section and the Office’s Project Safe Childhood Coordinator responsible for the coordination of investigations and prosecutions of all federal child exploitation offenses in this District, including child pornography, human trafficking, and other sexual exploitation offenses. She previously was assigned to the Counter-Terrorism Section where investigations involving immigration, money laundering and document fraud were handled. She has tried over 35 jury trials and argued over a dozen cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
