Students are strongly encouraged to have medical insurance and to carry their health insurance card with them at all times.
For students enrolling for 2013-14: Effective August 15, 2013, a Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan, designed especially for USD students, is available through Aetna Student Health. (Note: Purchasing this insurance plan is not the USD Student Health Fee that is required of all USD students which provides access eligibility to USD Wellness Services at the Student Health Center, Counseling Services, Disability Services and Center for Health and Wellness Promotion during the fall and spring semesters, and if registered for intersession classes.)
A University of San Diego website has been created for you! Please visit the Gallagher Koster website to learn about the insurance plan and answers to frequently asked questions.

Want to reduce your medical costs?
Obtaining a referral: Students enrolled in the University of San Diego Student Medical Plan can reduce their out-of pocket costs by either seeking care at the health center, or obtaining a referral before seeking care from a community provider. Students who do not seek care at the student health center or obtain a referral, will be responsible for a $100/$200 per injury or sickness deductible. Please refer to your plan brochure for details.
Domestic students are not automatically enrolled in the Domestic Student Plan. For instructions on enrolling in the USD Domestic Student Plan, please click here.
International students are automatically enrolled in the International Student Plan but are able to waive coverage if your current insurance is comparable. For instructions on waiving coverage, please click here.
