Ramiro Frausto is the Senior Director of the USD Institute of College Initiatives. He was born and raised in San Diego, and is proud to call "America’s Finest City" his home. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in History at San Diego State University.
He is dedicated to supporting students in pursuit of a higher education. Over the past 12 years, he has worked in all three USD TRIO programs including McNair, SSS, and Upward Bound. As such, he has had the pleasure of serving students in high school through doctoral studies.
As a proud first-generation college student and McNair alumnus, he is passionate about facilitating college access for first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. He credits his TRIO experience for renewing his scholarly interests and providing him the support to achieve his academic and professional goals.
