Full- and Part-time Employees Fall 2015
Based on a November 2015 snapshot of the Human Resources database, USD employed 2,414 people — 1,683 full time and 731 part time. The table below shows those employees distributed according to the occupational categories required by the federal IPEDS Human Resources surveys.
For the IPEDS surveys, each employee is counted once by the employee's primary job function. For example, full-time administrators who teach a course are not counted as part-time faculty in this table. The only student employees included in the IPEDS surveys are graduate students receiving assistantships.
In 2012-13 the IPEDS HR survey adopted the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) for classifying employees. The SOC is a system used by Federal statistical agencies to classify workers and jobs into occupational categories for tabulation and analysis. For more information, please visit the NCES IPEDS page dedicated to the new SOC category implementation at http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/resource/soc.asp.
