The ASG Commuter Senators are students who serve in the Associated Student Government Senate to advocate and work for commuter students at USD. They work with the ASG Leadership Team as well as the College of Arts & Sciences, School of Business, and Residential Senators to improve student services and programming. As of right now, there are seven open Commuter Senator positions!

Campus Recreation supports student learning by providing opportunities to be active, develop leadership skills, cultivate community and persist in experiences proven to enhance well-being. They are committed to providing welcoming and well-maintained facilities, staffed with an emphasis on compassionate service.
Campus Recreation offers workout facilities (some with showers) as well as day/semester locker rentals! Additionally, they offer a wide variety of group exercises classes which you can take advantage of while you're on campus!

The Career Development Center supports students in developing and achieving career goals that lead to meaningful lives by teaching students how to articulate their strengths, providing opportunities to build professional networks, and guiding students as they explore majors and define purposeful career paths. The Career Development Center also holds weekly drop-in hours in the Commuter Commons on Wednesdays from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.

The Center for Health and Wellness Promotion strives to increase students' knowledge, facilitate their motivation to change unhealthy behaviors related to alcohol and other drug (AOD) use, and to reduce the risk of personal and community harm secondary to AOD use. The Center for Health and Wellness Promotion provides individual clinical consultations, assessments, education, 12-step facilitation and support, and referrals to students. The Center for Student Success offers Student Success Coaching where professional staff and peer coaches are available to meet with undergraduate students experiencing challenges at USD that impact academic performance and persistence. Workshops are offered to assist first-year students with the transition to college. Session topics cover issues that new first-year students are likely to encounter, including faculty expectations, time management, study skills, choosing a major, health and safety at college, and the unique history and character of USD. The center also processes undergraduate leaves of absence requests as well as undergraduate withdrawals.

USD Dining is a not-for-profit department within Auxiliary Services that proudly serves the campus community and annually allocates earnings back to the University of San Diego and students. The First-Gen Action Team is a cross-divisional collaboration tasked to create and sustain campus-wide efforts to proactively engage and support USD's First-Generation college students while at USD and post-graduation. In addition, strive to attain retention and graduation rates equal to, or greater than, the USD average.

The Mathematics Center provides peer tutoring to students in their lower-level mathematics courses. The goal of the Mathematics Center is to provide short-term assistance while helping students become independent learners. The Mathematics Center is located in Serra Hall, Room 310, and is available to USD students on a walk-in basis and for scheduled group tutoring sessions. Our tutors are selected through recommendations by faculty members. Although the tutors have been asked to give priority to students in lower-level classes, those tutors with advanced training will help with other mathematics questions whenever they have time to do so. Information about the Mathematics Center, including its schedule, is available through the Mathematics and Computer Science Department website.

The SLIC oversees the areas of student activities, leadership development, student organizations, Welcome Week, and Fraternity and Sorority Life. Through the SLIC, you can get connected to over 160 Student Organizations, Associated Students, Torero Program Board, and Fraternity and Sorority Life. The SLIC also provides resources for event planning and leadership trainings on how to better lead a group and affect change. The Creative Zone and Involvement Consultant staffs can help with marketing, team building, event planning support and involvement opportunities.

Student Support Services (SSS) helps to meet the "success beyond college" needs of 320 eligible students who enroll at USD from low-income and/or first generation backgrounds, and/or who have documented disabilities. Admitted students transition to USD during a one-week Bridge program. Services are provided in the academic year and summer through the senior year: advising, financial aid and personal counseling, instructional support, peer networking, mentoring, and post-BA planning. SSS strengthens its participants' abilities through academic foundations, values, and support systems. It provides services to retain and graduate students, helping them to begin careers and pursue graduate education.

USD's Writing Center is an inclusive community serving undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines. In free, 45-minute to one-hour, one-on-one consultations, our experienced consultants provide critical reflection and constructive feedback during the multiple stages of the writing process, from planning to composing to revision. In this process, it is our goal to help students develop strategies for improving their writing, for gaining confidence in their writing and for developing educational independence.
