History Internships
Internship Class
Trying to figure out what to do with a degree in History? Our history internship courses provide practical experience in a field setting under professional supervision.
Internship opportunities include working at institutions throughout the city such as the San Diego History Center, La Jolla Historical Society, The Journal of San Diego History, the Women’s Museum, Lambda Archives or any of a number of historical museums and societies. Interns may also be partnered with a Department of History faculty member.
You can sign up for 1, 2 or 3 units as part of the HIST 398 course. Students also have the option to complete the Advanced Integration requirement through the HIST 498 course.
Please contact Distinguished Teaching Professor David Miller, PhD, with questions, inquiries and other internship ideas.
Additional Internships
Additionally, make sure to sign up for the Department of History Newsletter to learn about potential internship openings.
You can also learn more about other internship opportunities on the Career Development Center website.
