Dining

  • Student Meal Pick-Ups
    • Pre-approved meal pick-ups will be available starting Monday 3/23/20 at Tu Mercado inside the Student Life Pavilion level 2.
      • Pick-up timeframe is 10 am - 11:30 am Monday, Wednesday and Friday. See the email regarding meal pick-ups for complete information.
      • Be sure to bring your USD ID Card.
      • Email dining@sandiego.edu if you have dietary restrictions.

  • Increased social distancing protocols
    • All meals are for to-go only. Once you get your food you must exit the area. Dining-in is prohibited.
    • Only fewer than 10 people are allowed in a dining unit at one time.
    • Keep a minimum of 6' apart at all times.

Textbooks

  • The deadline for returning textbook rentals has been extended (to 6/15/20), and USD will cover textbook (rental) return shipping costs if shipped within the United States. Please visit the Torero Store website for additional important details.

Campus Services

  • The Mail Center, University Copy and Torero Store are open. Visit the Auxiliary Hours web page, or the MySD app for hours of operation.

Travel

  • Frontier Airlines
    For a limited time, students can now fly free on Frontier Airlines to nearly 100 destinations. Purchase before March 23, 2020 and one student can fly free for every one-way or round-trip Discount Den Fare purchased on qualifying flights and dates. No advance purchase required.

  • Enterprise Car Rentals
    Enterprise has lowered the age to rent a vehicle (from 21 to 18), and waived the young renter fee, through the end of May at all locations nationwide. To be eligible, students age 18 to 24 are required to show both a valid driver's license and an official student ID card.

  • Moving Boxes
    Free boxes for students are available on campus while supplies last: Founders and Maher RA offices, Palomar and Manchester front desks, and at Mata'yuum Lounge.
  • Shipping
    If you need to ship boxes home, the Mail Center (Maher Annex) is open and offers shipping options via UPS, Fedex and USPS. (Cash, credit card and Campus Cash accepted).
  • A1-Storage
    Save 50% off first month's rent on select storage units.
  • Morena Storage
    Morena Storage will provide a free truck and helper to load and unload. Please call for details: 619-299-4444.
Accommodations 

  • Bartell Hotels
    Bartell Hotels is offering a special rate to USD students, parents, employees and alumni that includes a 20% discount off standard room rates at any Bartell Hotels property through at least the end of March. Discount includes breakfast and several hotels are waiving resort and parking fees. Book via the link above or by calling 1-800-345-9995.  Students making reservations with their parent’s credit card can let the booking agent know (they may be asked to fill out a credit card authorization form). 

WiFi and Data Plans

  • Comcast
    Unlimited data for 60 days with no additional charges.

  • Xfinity WiFi
    Free network for everyone for 60-days nationally, waiving late fees, and helping low-income families get connected.

  • AT&T and Charter Communications
    Free public Wi-Fi for 60 days, broadband for households with students through college age who don’t already have a subscription, and removing all usage caps on all accounts.

  • Internet Essentials
    Internet program for low-income families free for first 2 months and costs $9.95 per month after.

  • T-Mobile
    Will provide unlimited smartphone data to all current subscribers and increase the data allowance to schools and students using their digital learning programs.

  • Verizon
    Will temporarily hold off on any late fees and disconnections and will not terminate service due to economic circumstances to pay bills for 60 days.

  • Sprint
    Expanding free roaming access on T-Mobile for 60 days. Will have unlimited data for 60 days.
