Meal Plans/Dining

Move In Weekend 9/18 -20

Auxiliary Hours Schedule 
  • Auxiliary locations are open during move-in weekend. Click the Schedule link for details.
  • Dining and retail areas are open to families of students. Be sure to go through the temperature check station first. A temperature check wristband is required to enter a building.
  • Auxiliary Services that will be open:
    • Fri-Sun: Tu Mercado (SLP, l2), Pavilion Dining (SLP l1), Mail Center (Maher Annex), Campus Card (UC 127), USD Torero Store (UC, l2)
    • Fri-Sat: U.S. Bank (UC 125)

    All regular account opening procedures apply. $25 minimum deposit is required to open a U.S. Bank checking account. Fees for non-routine transaction may apply. Your school chose U.S. Bank to add optional banking functionality to the campus ID card and may receive financial support from U.S. Bank to offset costs otherwise incurred by the school. Students, faculty, and staff are not required to open an account with U.S. Bank to receive or use the campus ID card for other campus services.

Meal Plans

To check the status of a Required Meal Plan, add a Voluntary Plan or Dining Dollars to your account:
Required Meal Plan Updates 
  • September 2020: A Required Plan will be included on student's account if they will be a first or second year resident (or a transfer with less than 60 units) per the Room and Board Terms
  • August 2020: Required Plans have been removed from student's account if student will now not be living on campus. 
Voluntary Plan Updates
  • All students are welcome to purchase a Meal Plan.
  • You may add a Plan via MySanDiego portal> My Torero Services> Meal Plan portlet.
Important Dates
  • Students who will move onto campus in September:
    • The first opportunity to use a Meal Plan is Friday, September 18 for dinner in Pavilion Dining.
  • Students who moved onto campus in August:
    • The first opportunity to use a Meal Plan was Sunday, August 16 for dinner in Pavilion Dining
  • For all students, the last opportunity to use a Meal Plan is:

Quarantine Meals 

  • Resident students in quarantine, or self isolation, will be provided meals (Monday through Friday: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Saturday-Sunday: brunch and dinner). Dietary needs will be taken into consideration. 
    • Meals provided will be deducted from student's Meal Plan. If student does not have a Meal Plan, meals will be billed to student's account. 
  • Basic groceries and school supplies will be available for delivery. Starting 9/18, you may purchase groceries for delivery via the GET Mobile app

Physical Distancing/Safety

View the fall Student Guide for additional important information.
  • A face covering (that covers the nose and mouth) must be worn across campus. This includes; while waiting in lines, in all dining and retail locations, and inside campus buildings.
    • Face coverings may be temporarily removed while eating but then must be put back on when you are done eating. No face covering - no service.
  • if you will be on campus, you need to first stop at a temperature check station before proceeding inside any building to obtain a wristband. No wristband - no service.
  • All campus meals are available to-go.
  • Limited indoor dining seating is allowed and available per the County health order. Outdoor seating is also available.
    • Please do not move tables and chairs.
    • Maintain physical distancing - including when outdoors - at all times.
  • Keep a minimum of 6' apart at all times from other guests and staff - in dining and retail units and dining and study seating areas.
  • All retail and dining locations accept payments that are touchless, or limit the number of touch points
    • To pay for meals with a Meal Plan, Campus Cash or Dining Dollars - just show your USD virtual ID via the MySD mobile app at check out.
    • Apple and Android Pay are accepted.
    • Debit cards are not accepted at this time due to COVID-19.
