No Car? No Problem!
Owning a car is expensive - between gas, insurance, parking fees and maintenance - the costs quickly add up. USD's Zipcar program allows students, faculty and staff access to a Zipcar membership. University memberships are lower cost and allow you to rent a car by the hour or the day - gas and secondary insurance are included.

USD Meal Plans - Lowest Cost, Most Flexibility
- Did you know that USD Meal Plans are the lowest cost plans out of all of the university's peer schools?
- USD compares itself, for benchmarking and other purposes, with 8 other schools similar in size and scope. Out of these schools - USD Meal Plans cost the least!
- Many schools require all resident students to have a Meal Plan. USD only requires residents with less than 60 units to have a plan.
- USD offers ten unique plans to choose from - so there is a suitable option for all students - undergraduates, graduate and law, residents and commuters.
- All Meal Plan pricing is locked in for the full academic year.
Student food purchases are not taxed!
Be sure to have your USD student ID available to show the cashier as the no-tax on food benefit is for currently enrolled students only.**University students will not be charged sales tax on food purchases. This excludes carbonated beverages which will be taxed in accordance with California Regulation 1603. Non-students are required to pay applicable taxes.
Military Discounts
Terms:Customers must show verification of their military status such as a current military issued ID card, and a current USD ID card may also be asked for at the time of the transaction.
- No other discounts can be applied/combined.
- No cash value.
- Not eligible for purchases paid for with a USD corporate credit card.
