Next Steps for Newly Admitted International Students

Immigration Requirements for Newly Admitted International Students

All newly admitted international students are required to submit immigration documentation to the University, relevant to the nonimmigrant status they plan to attend under. All immigration documentation must be submitted through iTorero, the University's international student portal.

If you are planning to obtain F-1 or J-1 status, or continue your existing F-1 status, sponsored by the University of San Diego, you must submit all of the required documentation in iTorero before you can receive your graduate F-1 or J-1 Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20 or Form DS-2019). If you are planning to attend the University under a nonimmigrant status not sponsored by the University of San Diego (for example: Fulbright students; individuals already in the United States on a work or dependent visa; etc.), you must submit the required documentation proving your status in iTorero in order to be able to register for classes.

REMINDER: You will not be able to request your Form I-20 or DS-2019, or prove your status, unless you have 1) accepted your offer of admission and paid your enrollment deposit, and 2) claimed your USDOne account and student email. If you have not yet paid your enrollment deposit and/or claimed your USDOne, please take a moment to do so by following the instructions below.

Additional Student Resources

When reaching out to any office on campus, please make sure to provide them with your first and last name, and your USD student ID number (which you can find in your official offer of admission email).
