What are the dates for Summer Sessions?
Summer Sessions are June 6 - August 26. There are various 3- and 6-week sessions through out the summer. Please see Important Dates for details.

Can I take a class Pass/Fail?
If you meet the guidelines to take a class Pass/Fail and if the conditions set out in the 2014-2016 Undergraduate Catalog are met. You must obtain your advisor's signature.
 

How and when can I register for Summer Sessions?
You can register during Online registration from March 1- March 30 based on units completed as of January 31. You must pay any outstanding balances and clear any holds before registering.

 
How can I add/drop a class after online registration is closed?
You must go to the One Stop Student Center and submit an Add/Drop form. For adds, tuition check must be presented at time of registration. Drops will be processed according to the Refund schedule for students who officially withdraw from class.
 
What if I need to attend Summer Sessions but wish to participate in the May ceremony? (August grads)
Assuming you are in compliance with all the graduation requirements in the Undergraduate/Graduate Catalog, you must register and pay for your remaining units at USD by May 1, 2016 at the One Stop Student Center.
 

How many units can I take during Summer Sessions?
You may register for a maximum of 13 units during the combined summer sessions.

  • Maximum of 4 units in a 3-week session
  • Maximum of 7 units in a 6-week session

If more units are necessary, you may request an Appeal for Overload form; have it signed by your advisor and Dean, and return it to the Summer and Intersession Office in Founders Hall 117. 

 
How do I get on a wait list if my preferred class is full?
Wait lists are kept in the Banner registration system during the four week online registration period. After that time, you can come to the Summer and Intersession Office in Founders Hall 117 starting Tuesday, April 4 at 8:30 a.m. to get on the wait list. Wait lists are first-come, first-served.
 
How much is tuition?
Tuition rates depend on your enrollment status. 
 
When is tuition due?
Tuition for courses reserved using Online Registration is due April 8. Tuition is due at the time of walk-in registration.
 
How do I pay for my Summer Sessions class?
Tuition must be paid in full by check at the One Stop student Center. There are several payment options for students including using EPay.  If using Financial Aid, you must have already applied for aid through the MySanDiego Portal and received and accepted your awards.   
 
How do I apply for Financial Aid?
Applications are now available on the Torero Hub Tab of the MySanDiego portal in the "My Financial Aid" channel. Please make sure to apply by the Financial Aid Deadlines.
 
Can you bill the person financially responsible for my Summer Sessions class?
No, that is not possible and there are no payment plans available for Summer. Tuition must be paid in full by April 8 if you use Online registration or at the time of walk-in registration.  
 
Can I get a refund if I don’t take the class I signed up for?
Only if you officially drop with the One Stop Student Center, then refunds are at the applicable rate as published in the catalog.  If you fail to attend a class you’ve registered for and do not officially drop, you will be charged for the class and receive an “F” on your transcript. 
 
Can I live on campus during Summer Sessions?
On-campus housing is available but requires an application. Housing is limited during the Summer so please apply early.  
 
Can I get a meal plan during Summer Sessions?
Meal plans are not available, however, CampusCash cards may be used.
 
What if I'm not currently a USD student?
All Non-USD students who wish to enroll in Summer or Intersession classes should apply through the Office of Professional and Continuing Education/Open Campus.
