MARRIAGES
Elizabeth Smith-Chavez ’78 (J.D.) married “the love of my
life,” Fred Chavez, on Feb. 14. She is a member at Seltzer,
Caplan, McMahon, Vitek, where she is head of the real property
practice group. Elizabeth becomes an “official empty-nester” with
her youngest child going to college in New York. … Rocelynn
Estrellon ’91 married
Ian Monteyro on Aug. 21 in Founders Chapel. Veronica (Lugo) McKnight ’91 was matron of honor. The bridesmaids
were Julie Fagan and Mikiko Nenn. Other USD alumni in attendance
included: Rina (Vasquez) Brenner ’92, Rhiza (Errasquin)

Rocelynn is a tax accountant in the La Jolla neighborhood of
San Diego, and Ian is a graphic designer in Del Mar, Calif. … Sherri Bliss ’94 married Christopher Huie on July 17. The two
won a wedding giveaway contest in March sponsored by a Los
Angeles radio station and were married in the Terrace Chapel
at the top of the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas. Sherri’s
maid of honor was Lucy Gonzales ’95.

(Adams) Tangeman ’95, and Nanci Hibschman ’93. Sherri and Chris live in Los Angeles,
where Sherri works for PacifiCare Health Systems in Cypress. … Amy

Robert DeMass in April. She has worked for Ortho McNeil Pharmaceuticals
for seven years. ... Aymie Kessler ’98 married Brian Knight on June 5. … Consuelo Carranza ’99 married her first love, Martin Knezevic,
an investment broker, on June 19. This fall Consuelo began
her fifth year teaching. … Caridad Sanchez ’99 got married on Aug. 28. She chairs the Cesar
Chavez Commem-oration Committee for San Diego County and remains
active in San Diego politics. … Lesley Ward ’99 and Jim Meyer ’98 were
married in The Immaculata on July 31. In the wedding party
were alumni Kristen Ward ’97, Jennifer
Drozd ’01, Lindsey Norum ’99, Lisa Meyer ’04, Bryan Sullivan ’98, Steve Eilers ’98, John Gibbons ’98, and Matt
Mejia ’99. The couple
enjoyed a relaxing honeymoon on a cruise in the Caribbean.
They recently bought a home in the Point Loma neighborhood
of San Diego and are enjoying the newlywed life. They both
continue to work for local biotech companies in the Sorrento
Valley area, where Jim works in the research lab as a supervisor
and is working on getting his M.B.A., and Lesley works in the
finance department as a certified public accountant. … Amity

Jeremy Hersch on June 26 in Founders Chapel. They honeymooned
in Tahiti. Both are teachers at Grossmont High School in La

Jahn ’02 were wed
at The Immaculata on May 8. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii
and will reside in San Diego. … Sarah Barnes ’03 and Taylor
Schwerman ’03 were
married at Torrey Pines Christian Church on June 26. Sarah
just finished her teaching credential and instructs an after-school
program that focuses on fitness and nutrition. Taylor is an
accountant with Deloitte and Touche.
