Attila A. Betyar '92 died Feb. 2. He was 39 years old. To benefit the
future education of his children, Jennie and Al, contributions may
be made to The Attila A. Betyar Children's Trust, c/o Dowling and
Yahnke, 11988 El Camino Real, Suite 320, San Diego, CA, 92130. A
tax-deductible donation, benefiting athletic programs for the youth
in North San Diego County, may be made to the Attila A. Betyar

Sister Annette J. Bourret, USD admissions director from 1970 to 1989, passed away in January in Menlo Park, Calif., after a long bout with cancer. She was 87. A long-time teacher and principal, Bourret arrived on campus in 1966 as a financial aid director at the San Diego College for Women before it merged with the San Diego College for Men and became USD. She served as director of undergraduate admissions from 1970 to 1980, and as director of graduate admissions from 1980 to 1989. Maj. John M. Walsh '00 (M.B.A.) was killed Jan. 22 while flying a night surveillance mission in Texas. He was 36. Walsh was one of four Marine Corps reservists who died when two Cobra helicopters collided while helping the U.S. Border Patrol in a counter-drug operation. Donations in Walsh's name may be sent to the John Ronchetto Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Chris Redo,
assistant dean of external relations, USD School of Business Administration.
