GSC Chair
Jason N. Marsh USD Law SBA President J.D. Candidate 2010 |
As Chair of the GSC, I'm eager to raise the profile of graduates on the USD-campus in a positive light. Our efforts this year will focus on increasing Graduate Students' representation at USD, as well as improving communication between graduates and the administration. I am a full-time student at the University of San Diego Law School, concurrently serving as the President of the Student Bar Association (SBA). My commitment to service inspires all of my efforts on behalf of both the GSC and the SBA, as I strive to continue improving graduate life at school and developing graduate networking opportunities both on and off-campus. I'd also like to extend an invitation to all concerned and interested USD graduates to stop by the GSC's new offices located in the Graduate and Law Commons on the fourth floor of the Student Life Pavilion. Meg Kolupski Marine Science |
As Vice-Chair of the GSC, I want to help graduate and law students earn equal representation on campus. Not only do we try to work for the graduate students themselves, but we also want to work as closely as possible with the administration to improve relationships and help with future change. I am a third-year Marine Science master’s student in the College of Arts & Sciences. I did my research in St. John, US Virgin Islands on the impacts of development concerning sedimentation on coral reefs. I have been a member of the GSC since my first year at USD, and I’ve really seen it grow. I hope that I am able to continue this growth for graduate and law students. Please feel free to email me with any questions, comments, or concerns, stop by the Commons in the SLP room 401, or come to one of the GSC meetings. CONTACT: mkolupski-10@sandiego.edu |
Councilor
Vincent Genna Nursing |
I currently co-chair the Graduate Nursing Student Association (GNSA) for the Hahn School of Nursing. I am currently working on the final year of my Family Nurse Practitioner Master’s program with clinicals ranging from Pediatrics to Women’s Health to Adult Internal Medicine. The school of nursing has helped develop my previous BA in Psychology with an emphasis on health, through the Master’s Entry Program in Nursing, to now a full time Critical Care RN at UCSD Medical Center. As I continue to solidify my identity as a nurse at my job, I am rapidly growing into the advanced practice role by learning how the marriage of healthcare provider and RN take care of not just the disease, but the whole person. I look forward to this academic year as the GNSA strives to support and become a central voice for graduate nursing students, current and past, throughout all represented degrees and programs.

Kevin Cowan School of Law |
Hello, I'm Kevin and I'm really excited to be a part of the GSC as Law School Rep this year! I'm a 3L, and in addition to GSC, I also serve as the President of the National Lawyers Guild USD chapter. I am active with the Student Bar Association, and enjoy volunteer activities like being an Orientation Leader for the incoming students, as well as helping out with the San Diego Cancer Society. I'm originally from Chicago, which I love (GO CUBS!) and I absolutely adore San Diego. I was a Phlosophy Major at NCC in Naperville, IL, and came here for Law. If it was up to me, I would be a student forever, but I suppose I will end up teaching someday instead. Hopefully here at USD. CONTACT: kevincowan-10@sandiego.edu |
Councilor
Krystal Norris School of Law |
As a member of the Graduate Student Council, it is my goal to form a cohesive group of graduate students that may serve the interests of all students no matter what graduate program they are affiliated with. As a first year full-time law student, I hope to bring the concerns, thoughts, and feelings of the entering class of 2012. In addition, as a USD alumni from the class of 2004, I feel I can offer insight into how graduate students can connect with the USD community on the whole. I received my BA in political Science and Business from the University of San Diego, and my M.A.T. from Chapman University. Because graduate students make up 25% of the entire student body at USD, the GSC hopes to take an active role in voicing your concerns, goals, ideas, and accomplishments!
