Dr. Manzur Rahman, Associate Professor of Finance, was recently featured in The San Diego Union Tribune for his article "A Slow Motion Financial Meltdown."

Dr. Ellen Cook, Professor of International Business and Accountancy, recently returned from a November trip to Kyoto, Tokyo and Beijing, China. Cook accompanied President Mary Lyons and Vice President of University Relations, Tim O'Malley, to an award ceremony for the Kyoto Prize (www.kyotoprize.org) and a USD Reunion Dinner, where twenty USD alumni and friends attended.

Also in Beijing, Dr. Ellen Cook and Dr. Denise Dimon represented the business school at the MBA Forum, an event to recruit students for MBA programs around the world. They also visited British Petroleum and DragonMed Corporation to prepare for the practicum that is being held in January 2009 in Beijing, with twenty-four MBA and IMBA students. Dr. Cook will lead the practicum from January 14-23, 2009.

Dr. Alan Gin, Professor of Economics, was featured on KPBS Radio on their "Local Economist Discusses Impact of Financial Crisis on San Diego" discussion.
