Summer Send Offs
The Office of Parent Relations is coordinating Summer Send Offs, pre-orientation receptions coordinated in regions of the country with the most significant enrollment of incoming freshman and transfer students. Summer Send Offs are generally hosted by parents in the region and the Office of Parent Relations. Parent Board members, alumni, and orientation team students participate by answering questions from students and parents, who welcome the opportunity to meet representatives from the university. Students and parents enjoy meeting other families from their area and find it comforting to put faces with names and get answers to questions. A complete list of dates and locations will be included in your New Parent and Family Calendar and can be found below.
New students will receive detailed invitations approximately 3 weeks prior to the event date. If you will be traveling to any of these areas and would like to attend a Send Off, please contact us for additional details.

Current parents are encouraged to be involved in Summer Send Offs in the following ways:
- Host a Summer Send Off. This involves working with the Office of Parent Relations to secure a convenient date and location for the reception, and then help to coordinate food and beverages. Hosts generally donate the cost of the Summer Send Offs.
- Attend and support Summer Send Offs in their region.
