Our College Mentors / Tutors provide academic support, group and individual tutoring, counseling, and mentoring to program participants from Kearny High Educational Complex and Hoover High School. Where: |
The majority of work will be conducted on-campus at USD in UC 102. Academic support and tutoring services are currently provided virtually with office hours via Zoom from 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday. In-person support is conducted on a case by case basis at the school site or on-campus at USD. In some cases, we may hold Saturday sessions. |

Duties: |
Under the supervision of the Upward Bound Head Resident Assistant, the Resident Assistant (RA) will be responsible for creating, providing, and maintaining a safe and empowering on-campus summer experience. RAs play a critical role during the UB summer program. Their responsibilities pertain to both the academic and social aspects of the summer experience. RAs will be responsible for assisting and implementing all cultural activities with student participants. Note: RAs will be provided with a meal card and on-campus housing. RAs must stay overnight Sunday - Friday. This is a full-time temporary summer role. RAs are expected to:

The Summer Instructor is expected to teach at least two classes with 15-25 students each class, on-campus at the University of San Diego. Instructors will be expected to create their own syllabus with course goals and objectives. USD UB will provide previous summer program course syllabi for reference. Each course must reflect and be able to adapt to the unique needs of students. The instructor should make reasonable demands of students regarding daily assignments and final course requirements.
