Our trips are facilitated almost exclusively by volunteer outing guides who prepare components of the trip including the itinerary, equipment, menu and other logistics as well as help their participants prepare for the trip.
Guide Training includes hands-on experiences in setting up camp, outdoor cooking, and mastering outdoor gear. New outdoor guides will learn to cultivate leadership skills and form lasting connections with fellow guides in this program.
If you think becoming a guide sounds cool, then please stop by Outdoor Adventures and introduce yourself or attend one of our Thursday evening meetings that take place at 7:00PM - 8:30PM in UC128. We'd love to see you there! You can also email us at usdoutdooradventures@gmail.com if you have any questions, and we highly recommend you join our mailing list to get the most up to date information.
After you're done reading everything below, take a look at the Guide Program Overview Document for some even more detailed information on the requirements to be a guide, and then fill out the Guide Application to begin the application process! We also do not want cost to be a barrier in your participation, so if you need financial assistance please email us!
