- Students with a Commuter (C) permit must park in MPS, E3, E10-AVC, S10, S11 (Commuter "C" spaces only), S12, N3, N5, WPS (all levels including basement B1-B3), W1, or W2.
- Students with a West Parking (WP) permit must park in WPS (all levels including basement B1-B3), W1, or W2.
- Students with a Perimeter (PR) permit must park in the basement levels B1-B3 of WPS, W2, E6, G3, or G4.
- You may not park in the following residential areas at any time: Valley lots and Vistas (E9, E10, and E12).
- Commuter students may not park in the reserved spaces in MPS and S7 (KIPJ S. Lot) at any time.
First-year resident students are not allowed to park on campus. First-year resident students with a medical or disability related need, or those with off campus jobs with proof of consistent employment may apply for an exception.
If you are looking for medical exceptions, please email Student Wellness at wellness@sandiego.edu. Any emails to parking@sandiego.edu requesting an exception will not be accepted.
Second-year resident students may bring a car to campus and purchase an e-permit for their assigned area. Transfer students who have completed a full school year are allowed to buy e-permits.
Resident students must park in their assigned parking areas listed below or in the WPS (West Parking Structure - all levels), W1(West Lot), or W2 (Gravel Lot) between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Valley residents must park in white-lined spaces in E1 (Valley B Lot) or on Santa Paula Dr., San Dimas Ave., San Buenaventura Way, or Santa Ana Dr. Valley parking subject to availability, first year students with an exception will be granted Perimeter parking.
- Camino and Founders residents must park in WPS.
- Alcala Vistas residents must park in white-lined spaces in the lots surrounding the Alcala Vista Apartments E9-E11.
- Manchester Village residents parking is restricted to the garages underneath (G3 and G4) and the white-lined spaces in the lots surrounding the Manchester Village Apartments.
- Pacific Ridge residents - Please email housing@sandiego.edu if you would like to purchase a parking space in the Pacific Ridge apartments. Residents are also eligible to purchase a USD on-campus residential permit at $395 per academic year (August to July). Your assigned parking areas are the Manchester Village Garages (G3 and G4).
Off Peak Parking – After 4 p.m., permit holders may park in these designated areas per permit type. Park Up opportunities expire weekdays at 7 a.m. Vehicles are subject to citation/tow if parked outside of their assigned permit area weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Perimeter permit holders (PR) may park in the West Parking Structure (all levels including basement B1-B3).
- Resident permit holders (AV, MV, and VLY) may park in Commuter lots, Faculty/Staff lots and Proximity lots.
- West Parking permit holders (WP) may park in Faculty/Staff lots and Commuter lots.
- Commuter permit holders (C) may park in Faculty/Staff lots and Proximity lots.
You may not park in the following spaces at any time: University Invited Guest spaces in MPS and S7 (KIPJ S. Lot), Immaculata W. Lot (N4), and 24/7 reserved spaces.
