Employee Parking Options
- Faculty/Staff (FS) permit holders must park in MPS, WPS, W3, W4, E3, E5, and E11
- West Parking (WP) permit holders must park in WPS and W1.
- Perimeter (PR) permit holders must park in levels B1-B3 of WPS, W2, E6, G3, and G4.
- Proximity parking lots are shared reserved lots and differ from the general faculty/staff lots. To be eligible for proximity parking, an employee must have an active, full-time, benefit-based status according to Human Resources. PX permit holders must park in their assigned lots Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Proximity permit holders will be assigned to a Proximity lot, and must park in their assigned lots. If an employee allows someone to use their space, they must add that person’s vehicle information to their parking account. If the employee is parked on campus while a guest is using their e-permit, the employee must park in the MPS (Main Structure) or WPS (West Structure) and pay the meter.
- Pay-to-Park Areas - You may park in these areas for the time allotted and must pay the parking meter or Parkmobile app when required.
- Retired employees with an emeritus permit must adhere to the general employee parking regulations. Retirees must obtain a no-cost e-permit by emailing Parking Services at parking@sandiego.edu.
Off Peak Parking Opportunities
Off Peak Parking – After 4 p.m., permit holders may park in these designated areas per permit type. Off Peak parking opportunities expire weekdays at 7 a.m. Vehicles are subject to citation/tow if parked outside of their assigned permit area weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Perimeter permit holders (PR) may park in West Parking.
- West Parking permit holders (WP) may park in Faculty/Staff lots and Commuter lots.
- Faculty/Staff permit holders (FS) may park in Proximity lots.
- Proximity permits holders (PX) may park in Proximity lots outside of their assigned Proximity lot.*
You may not park in the following spaces at any time: University Invited Guest spaces in MPS and S7 (KIPJ S. Lot), Immaculata W. Lot (N4), and 24/7 reserved spaces.
Fresh Air E-Permits
- Fresh Air E-Permits are available to faculty, staff, and administrators who typically use an alternate mode of transportation to commute to campus (e.g. ride a bike, take the trolley, carpool, etc). Remote employees are not eligible.
- Fresh Air E-Permits are issued on a per semester basis and allow for parking up to 16 times per semester.
- The Fresh Air E-permits are valid only in MPS (Main Parking Structure) and WPS (West Parking Structure).
- These e-permits are complimentary to alternative transportation users and alternate form of transportation must be verified.
- Please fill out the Fresh Air permit request form and we will respond to you within three (3) business days with additional instructions.
- The Dates for the semester are as follows:
- Fall Semester: August 1 – January 31
- Spring Semester: February 1 – July 31
