The Mulvaney Center hopes to create a community of holistic learners and active citizens whose sense of compassion calls them to work towards a more equitable and just society. Through deep partnership and capacity building alongside community organizations, students are able to cultivate the necessary skills and leadership required to do just that.
Student Experience
Speaking at the freshman orientation, Marie Baseel reflected on her previous years at USD to share with students the numerous ways they can get involved in changemaking and community engagement. Her story highlights the intertwining of work done between the Changemaker Hub and the Mulvaney Center. Throughout her years at USD Marie has been able to take a deeper look at how to approach working with community in a meaningful way, emphasizing the intentionality of relationship building.
