Professional Experience
Professor Mirreghabie is keenly interested in enhancing the practice of law and, more specifically, its role in improving healthcare and public health arenas by implementing experiential legal education, advancing alternative dispute resolution, and harnessing leading technology.
Professor Mirreghabie teaches California Bar Examination, experiential advocacy, and academic support programs in addition to integral transaction and litigation practicums focusing on vital upper-division legal writing and drafting, compelling oral argument techniques, advanced alternative dispute resolution, and trauma-informed lawyering. In conjunction with Juris Doctor (JD) instruction, Professor Mirreghabie teaches Master of Laws (LLM) doctrinal study at University of San Diego School of Law and serves as Member of the University of San Diego’s Senate Ad Hoc Committee on Shared Governance. Moreover, she educates others on the ethical utilization of artificial intelligence and technological advances in law.
The State Bar of California has appointed her Arbitrator, Co-Author of Reset: Retaker Bar Support Program Handbook, and Law School Council Officer, in addition to her serving as Attorney and Mediator. Professor Mirreghabie teaches at University of San Diego School of Law, University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, and California Western School of law, while closely collaborating with the University of California, Davis School of Law and other law schools.
Professor Mirreghabie previously served as Assistant Director of Deposition, Expert Deposition, and Trial Advocacy Programs at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy to equip practicing attorneys with trial and deposition skills.
California Governor Newsom has appointed Professor Mirreghabie to the Osteopathic Medical Board of California, a California Department of Consumer Affairs protection board that is responsible for licensing and regulating osteopathic physicians and surgeons while advancing patient safety. Her subject matter experience in complex mass tort, toxic tort, and consumer protection class action litigation include notable cases related to the Opioid Crisis, Flint Michigan Water Crisis, Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, Legionnaires’ disease, railway chemicals, heavy metal contamination, as well as both prescribed and over-the-counter medicines like phenylephrine oral
Professor Mirreghabie frequently guest lectures about the intersection of law and medicine as well as alternative dispute resolution needed in this space, including at the Department of Health and Human Services' Community Action Partnership, University of San Diego’s Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science, University of San Diego’s Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, and many non-profit professional associations.
She is fluent in English, Farsi, and German and proficient in other languages.
Honors and Affiliations
Professor Mirreghabie holds Computer Science certification from Stanford University, an International and Comparative Law Diploma from Sorbonne University (Paris, France), an International Relations Diploma from Korea University (Seoul, South Korea), and an International Baccalaureate Diploma (Geneva, Switzerland).
She trained in Alternative Dispute Resolution, at both Pepperdine University School of Law Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution and University of California, Davis, as well as holds Mediation certification from University of California, Davis. Additionally, she is professionally certified in Human Resources, Information Privacy, and Project Management.
She has led numerous bar associations and served as an American Bar Association Delegate, San Diego County Bar Association Board Member and Division President, and Lawyers Club of San Diego Committee Chair. While studying at the University San Diego School of Law, she worked in its Education and Disability Legal Clinic, Civil Legal Clinic, and Entrepreneurship Clinic.
Professor Mirreghabie has been honored with a Volunteer Recognition Award from the San Diego Superior Courts. She has been of pro bono service to the San Diego City Attorney’s Office (Civil Litigation Division), Carlsbad City Attorney’s Office, Orange County District Attorney’s Office (Sexual Assault Unit), San Diego Superior Court (Family Law Facilitator’s Office), and veterans.
