Professional Experience
Professor Sambold is a leader in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and has more than a decade of service in over 1,000 cases across a broad spectrum of civil litigation matters. A fluent Spanish speaker, she regularly arbitrates and mediates in both English and Spanish, facilitating resolutions in multicultural settings and between parties of diverse nationalities. Professor Sambold has taught extensively in the areas of conflict resolution, negotiation, cross-cultural communication and ADR and as an adjunct professor at California Western School of Law.
Honors and Affiliations
Professor Sambold is the Executive Officer of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution, Co-Chair of the ABA Advanced Mediation and Advocacy Skills Institute, Chair of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) ADR Section, and President of the San Diego Law Library Foundation. She has been recognized for meeting the highest independent standards for neutrals established by the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN), Mediate.com and the International Mediation Institute (IMI). Professor Sambold has received training in dispute resolution from Harvard Law School, Pepperdine University School of Law - Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She is licensed in California, the U.S. Federal Court for the Southern District and Colombia.
