Professor Cho teaches In-House Corporate Counseling. She also serves as a Faculty Advisor to the U.S. Law & Policy Program for International Professionals.

Professional Experience

Professor Cho has been an in-house counsel for over a decade in addition to working at law firms and a Big 4 accounting firm, both in the for-profit and non-profit sectors.  Most recently, Saerin Cho was the Chief Legal Officer and the Secretary of the National Board of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), a national nonprofit with the mission of ending impaired driving.  Prior to MADD, she was the inaugural General Counsel of Digital Green Foundation, a global development nonprofit organization that provides technology solutions for rural farmers to build prosperous communities.  She was also the Deputy General Counsel and the Chief Eligibility Counsel at TechSoup, a global technology nonprofit organization that connects mission-driven technology companies and nonprofits worldwide with digital resources.  She is the Board Chair of Public Interest Registry (PIR), which manages over 11 million mission-driven domains including .ORG.

Honors and Affiliations

Saerin holds a J.D. and an LL.M. in Taxation, Magna Cum Laude, from University of San Diego School of Law, and two B.A.s, Magna Cum Laude, in International Studies and Cum Laude, in Criminology, Law and Society from University of California, Irvine. During law school, she worked on the San Diego International Law Journal and co-founded KABA-SD (Korean American Bar Association of San Diego). Her recent honors include the Top 10 Corporate Counsel Award by OnCon (2025), Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Champion by Corporate Counsel at the Women, Influence & Power in Law (WIPL) Awards (2024), and the LA Times In-House Counsel Leadership Award (2022). She serves on the USD School of Law's Alumni Association Board of Directors and is a member of the San Diego chapter of ACC (Association of Corporate Counsel) and WGCN (Women General Counsel Network).
