Professional Experience
Sullivan is a career law clerk for the Honorable Benjamin J. Cheeks in the Southern District of California. Prior to working for Judge Cheeks, Sullivan clerked for the Honorable Thomas J. Whelan from 2004 until 2006 and worked in the Pro Se Unit from 2006-2013 specializing in habeas corpus cases. Sullivan clerked for the Honorable M. James Lorenz from 2013-2025, concentrating on criminal matters. Sullivan had a career in entertainment and sports management prior to law school and serves on a ComicCon panel each year called “Comic Book Law School” discussing monetization of artistic works.
Professor Sullivan teaches Contract Drafting.
