Gad Weiss is a business law and entrepreneurship scholar whose research explores startup governance, venture capital, and the legal frameworks shaping emerging companies and technological innovation. Previously, he was the Wagner Fellow at the NYU Pollack Center for Law & Business at NYU School of Law.
Professor Weiss's publications address startup finance, business organizations, and innovation, with work published or forthcoming in journals including the Yale Journal on Regulation, the BYU Law Review, the Arizona State Law Journal, the University of Illinois Law Review, and the American Business Law Journal, among others. His writing has been cited by the Supreme Court of Israel and featured on prominent academic and professional platforms, including the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, the Columbia Law School Blue Sky Blog, the Chancery Daily, the Oxford Business Law Blog, and the ECGI Blog. Earlier in his career, he practiced as an emerging companies and venture capital associate at a leading Tel Aviv-based law firm and served as a mentor in several tech accelerators.
Fluent in Hebrew, Professor Weiss holds a JSD and LLM from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and founding member of the Columbia Law School Corporate Responsibility Association. He also earned an LLB and an additional LLM, magna cum laude, from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
