Beginning in 2024, PaperCut will be San Diego University’s print management solution.
2023
Stage One Completed
Stage one is based on a limited area of the University for setup/testing grounds.
- Install PaperCut Server (Completed January 23)
- Install PaperCut Print Server Status Secondary Sites (Completed March 23)
- Get WebPrint system operational (Completed November 23)
- Purchase PaperCut NG/MF (Completed June 23)
- Purchase PaperCut Print & Deploy Extended Use Client (Completed November 23)
2024
Stage Two
Stage two is revolves around acampus wide deployment.

PaperCut Details
PaperCut provides more security, sustainability, trackable printing and copying, Scan-To-Me, Find-Me printing, Mobility printing and Web Print.
PaperCut is a comprehensive print management system designed to seamlessly monitor and control your resources with easy to use administrative and user tools that can be securely accessed from anywhere on the network though a web browser.
Employees will need to have the new EmployeePrinting queue installed on their computer to print. Click here to download the PaperCut installer for Mac and Windows. If you have a shared computer, you will need to contact your IT support to install the queue (you can do so by starting a request at sandiego.edu/gethelp).
If you are the only user of your computer, you can follow the instructions on the PaperCut website for Mobility Print.
