Manager, Web Services

  • BA, University of San Diego, English

The primary responsibility of my position is coordination and management of the USD website. I lead a team of web developers who handle website design, development and programming projects on behalf of the university. Together the team is dedicated to the ongoing technical, creative and functional enhancement of the main university website, academic sites and administrative department sites. In total this spans over 200 websites and involves coordination with over 300 maintainers and content providers.

Campus website redesigns are coordinated through my position, as are various services such as specialized site startup, database integration, web utility implementation and general campus website support. I ensure that centralized web technologies and systems are integrated across campus and make recommendations for new website features. I also help oversee the campus Content Management System (CMS) for central administration of website maintenance software and work with the University Communications department on content and photography needs for the website as needed.

I have worked in the web field for over a decade managing and developing academic websites. I have led large-scale redesign projects in phases leading to successful site rollouts. My strength is my versatile skill set ranging from management abilities to proficiency in website coding languages (HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL).

I also have experience in the fields of writing, editing and photography and have been published in several publications. Aside from my professional interests I enjoy traveling, reading, photography and finding the best cuisine a place has to offer.
