John Mullen

Priority Designs

John grew up in Lancaster, California, and in middle and high school years enjoyed being involved in FIRST robotics programs.  Those experiences encouraged him to pursue a career in mechanical engineering, which he began by earning his BSME (LeTourneau University, 2014) and MSME (Ohio University, 2017).  John then went to work in San Diego for Quartus Engineering, where as an engineering consultant he contributed to a variety of projects for Quartus's clients.  Some of his work at Quartus included frame detailed design for a lasercomm satellite payload, and a metrology platform for a 3D metal printer prototype.  While working in San Diego, John greatly enjoyed serving as industry advisor for the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 ASME HPVC senior design teams at USD.  In summer 2020, John moved from San Diego to Columbus, Ohio to begin working as a senior engineer for Priority Designs. John has design experience in a multitude of industries and loves taking on new challenges.  If he doesn’t know something already, he’s keen to learn more about it, whether it’s component/assembly design and analysis, assembly and testing, or project management.  Outside of work, he enjoys staying involved with friends and community and pursuing the hobby of woodworking.
