Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering

  • PhD, UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE
  • MS, IRAN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
  • BS, K.N. TOOSI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, IRAN

Nadieh Moghadam received her B.S. degree from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, and her M.S. degree from Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran. During her masters, she focused on wireless sensor networks where she achieved sensor lifetime enhancement by applying a specific clustering method.

She received her PhD from the University of Louisville, KY, USA, in 2017 in electrical engineering with the Graduate Dean’s Citation award. Moreover, she has been awarded the two-year university fellowship and Theobald Scholarship during her PhD. In her dissertation she addressed how to ensure network stability and maximum throughput in order to meet the demands of modern communication.

After graduation, she joined Ivani, a start-up company that develops software to add wireless sensing to a variety of IoT devices. She worked with a team on leveraging the RF environment to provide advanced occupancy sensing systems using low power communication chips and communication protocols like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Zigbee.

Her areas of interest in academic research include wireless communication, wireless sensor networks, network coding, optimization, machine learning and embedded system design. She has authored more than fifteen conference and journal papers. She has also served as reviewer for Journal of IEEE Transaction on Vehicular Technology and Journal of IEEE communication Letters since 2015.
