Charles Wolfe, PhD

Charles Wolfe, PhD, is an adjunct faculty lecturer in the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering. He has recently retired from a 40+ year career in industry with a primary focus on radio communication systems. He has been involved in many phases of engineering and engineering management over the course of his career. Dr. Wolfe's experience ranges across several complex system types including navigation for GPS, system engineering for point-to-point radios, networked radios, mobile cellular systems and satellite communication systems.
 
In addition to systems engineering, he has been a project manager, line manager and product manager in the field of radio communications. In addition to his current role at the University of San Diego, he has taught upper level courses in electrical engineering at San Diego State University and at the University of California, Irvine.
 
Dr. Wolfe has a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), a Master's Degree (MSEE) from the University of Southern California and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of California, Irvine. He is a Life Member of the IEEE.
