James Kohl, PhD, has research interests in mechanical properties and failure analysis of polymer materials. His other research interests are adhesion of silicone coatings and tribology. He has significant industry experience, including serving as vice president of Airfoil Operations and Engineering, technical director and program coordinator at Chromalloy Dallas. Prior to coming to USD, Dr. Kohl has taught at the U.S. Military Academy. He also was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Tribology Section at the Naval Research Laboratory.
