Angelo Colon, is the senior academic advising specialist for the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering. He has spent over 20 years supporting students through their transition to college and in their pursuit of success. He completed his MBA at the University of Lynchburg in Business Administration and a Master of Education in Counselor Education - Student Affairs Administration from Clemson University. His undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education. Prior to his current role, Colon worked at a variety of institutions in first-year student initiatives, orientation and transition, academic advising, student activities, residence life and retention and student success services.

Additionally, Colon has championed first-year student and diversity initiatives, co-directed a federal campus grant for the prevention of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking and advised professional and honor societies including chapters of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and Alpha Alpha Alpha National Honor Society for First-Generation College Students.
