Working toward and completing the certificate coursework does not confer a teaching credential. In order to earn the preliminary teaching credential accredited by the state of California, additional requirements must be met including, but not limited to, the Basic Skills requirement, the Subject Matter proficiency requirement, the Reading Instruction Competency Assessment (RICA), and successful completion of courses EDTE 313P/513P, EDTE 316/516, and student teaching.
