Learning outcomes
- Describe fundamental principles in environmental and ocean sciences, including (a) the principles and the interconnectedness of the atmosphere, biosphere, geosphere and hydrosphere and (b) how human interactions affect these spheres and connections.
- Investigate questions in environmental and ocean sciences using an inquiry-based approach.
- Evaluate and employ appropriate field and lab methods commonly used in environmental and ocean sciences to address scientific questions.
- Analyze and interpret data using graphs and equations and maps.
- Conduct literature reviews to obtain scholarly information, and use that information to critically evaluate claims in environmental and ocean sciences.
- Synthesize a cogent argument with a scientific perspective using written and/or oral communication skills.
