About the Certificate
The Certificate in Community Engagement provides students with direct experiences and skills development for working and collaborating in any future career they may follow.
The coursework includes immersive, hands-on community experience that complements and deepens the theoretical and conceptual learning in the classroom. In particular, students will learn how to effectively engage with community partners and tackle real-world challenges by building meaningful relationships, understanding community needs and critically examining the distribution of power.
In their capstone experience, designed through direct collaboration with a community partner, students will develop a project that aligns with opportunities or needs that have been identified in conjunction with that partner.
