USD Auxiliary Services manages all vending on campus. Vendors interested in sampling or retailing at USD must request approval to do so and adhere to applicable campus and local guidelines.

Note: Approvals provide permission for the specific event date or dates requested only and are no indication that the University of San Diego will offer/sample or sell your products in the future.

Catered Food

USD Catering is the university's exclusive caterer. Revenue goes back to the university annually to support students and campus programs. Campus entities (clubs/groups, departments etc.) may not bring in any outside, unapproved, vendors or food to campus without prior approval.

If you are a student group/club, or a university department, and you would like to request approval to use an outside caterer or vendor to bring food onto campus for an event or meeting:

Selling or Sampling Food

If you are a vendor interested in selling or sampling your food and/or beverage product(s) on campus, including for one-day or short term events, you need to request permission to do so. You must submit a request at least fourteen business days in advance of the event date.

SELLING

Application to Sell/Vend Food

  • Applications will be reviewed by the Director of USD Dining
  • Vendor will receive notification, as to whether or not the application has been approved, within 5 business days
  • Vendor insurance requirements must be met and documentation sent in with the application

County Requirements

SAMPLING

If you wish to sample food or beverage products at USD (i.e: distribute the items at no cost) please email the following information to USD Dining: dining@sandiego.edu. Do not complete an application form yet. If the form is needed you will be contacted. Allow up to 5 business days for a reply.

  • Name of your business and contact info (phone and email)
  • Information about the event (date, location, customer) and purpose of the sampling
  • Description of the item to be sampled and if it requires hot or cold storage or equipment

Retail Goods

Vendors interested in selling or sampling non-food merchandise (apparel, gifts etc.) on campus, or via USD Torero Store, should contact the USD Torero Store directly. Visit their retail vendor page for more information. Vendor inquiries will be responded to within 5 business days.

Note: Branded (logo'd) merchandise must be licensed. To become a USD licensee, visit the Licensing web page.

Vending Machines

USD offers a variety of food and beverage vending machines across campus. Refund information is located on each food/beverage vending machine - please contact the vendor directly.
