Non-Academic Service Fees

USD faculty, staff and students have use of USD media equipment for various events outside the instructional purpose of Instructional Media Services at no charge.

To meet these various requests for USD media equipment for social (including student organizations), non-academic or off campus use, or, for USD departments requesting media equipment and then charging outside users (for IMS equipment); we offer a non-academic rate that is highly competitive with fees charged by private suppliers. USD departments engaged in events for profit (or USD departments renting their meeting spaces and requiring IMS equipment to meet a paying client’s request), would be charged from the non-academic scale.

Sample from other vendors and from the proposed USD fees:

Meeting Services, Inc. (MSI)

Mini DV camera w/ tripod: $400 per day
Laptop Computer: $150 per day
Data Projector: $500 per day

USD Fee

Fee Mini DV camera: $20 per day
Laptop Computer: $100 per day
Data Projector: $50 per day

Payment of the Daily Use Fee would be accepted at time of checkout by the following methods: Campus cash, credit/debit cards, POETS code and personal checks made out to ‘USD’.

Faculty and Staff lending for Academic Use in regularly scheduled classes for credit courses would continue without charge.
