Daily Use Fee

Various universities have instituted an equipment fee policy that provides sustainability and promotes patron accountability. Patrons making use of USD media equipment must accept financial responsibility for returning all equipment on time and in the condition which they received it. • Brown University Laser Pointer/Presenter: $15 per day
• University of Portland Tripod: $5 per day
• Yale University Cassette Recorder: $15 per day
• UCLA Microphone w/ cable: $10 per day
• Gonzaga University Data Projector: $20 per day

USD students may continue to access media equipment for instructional purposes at a minimum daily fee.

Sample of USD daily use fees:

• Laser Pointer/Presenter: $1 per day
• Tripod w/mounting plate: $1.50 per day
• Cassette Recorder: $1 per day
• Microphone w/ cable: $3.50 per day

Payment of the Daily Use Fee will be accepted at time of checkout by the following methods: Campus cash, credit/debit cards and personal checks made out to ‘USD’.

Faculty and Staff lending for Academic Use FOR regularly scheduled USD classes for credit courses would continue without charge.

To meet other various requests that would allow faculty, staff and students to access USD media equipment for social, personal, student organizations, non-academic or off campus use we offer a rate that is highly competitive with fees charged by private suppliers. USD departments engaged in events for profit (or patrons renting USD spaces and requiring IMS equipment to meet a clients paying request), would be charged from the non-academic scale.
