To be eligible, you must have worked through Federal Work-Study (FWS)/College Work Opportunity (CWO) during the 2025-26 academic year, or have been awarded FWS for the upcoming 2026-27 academic year. You must also be registered/enrolled for Fall 2026.
In addition, you must submit the 2026 Summer College Work Opportunity Application.
All positions are available for the summer (June 1 – August 21, 2026) and located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted. The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire.

Description
The Computer Lab Assistant is responsible for the following:
Greeting users as they walk into the lab, providing basic customer service assistance for users with department supported software questions, opening and closing lab facilities, lab security, enforcing and observing all Customer Support Services policies, monitoring lab usage, monitoring lab supplies (paper, toner, staples, etc.), maintaining cleanliness of lab facilities, guiding students through the wepa printing process, responsible for checking out lab equipment (laptops, chargers, adapters, calculators, etc.) working assigned shifts through finals week, attending department orientation and other training, performing related departmental duties as assigned. We provide in house training on all equipment.
Skills
Customer Service experience is preferred but not required as training will be provided. Basic Microsoft Office experience in Word and Excel are preferred as well as some experience with basic web browsers but not required. If no computer related experience, must be willing to learn and take in house training classes to improve knowledge.
Additional Information
Monday - Friday 9am-4pm during the summer.
Graduate Student Positions
Pay Rate: $19.45 / hr
Required: USD graduate student who has applied for financial aid (submitted the 2025-26 OR 2026-27 FAFSA) and meets federal and university eligibility criteria.
Description
Assist students and parents in person or on the telephone with Financial Aid questions. Other duties as assigned. Financial Aid training will be provided.
Skills
This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to relate easily to a variety of people and the ability to maintain confidentiality and discuss sensitive information with discretion and tact. Must be able to answer financial aid questions and interact professionally with parents and students. The applicant should be a detail-oriented, independent worker who can analyze information and respond appropriately on a case-by-case basis, while working in a team environment. Some prior knowledge of financial aid terminology would be helpful, but is not required.

Hours Needed: Mon-Fri between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, ~10 hours / week
