Overview
The assessment of desired outcomes in the Division of Student Affairs takes place on several levels simultaneously. The following tiered structure helps to conceptualize and organize that assessment work and to ensure that all staff members are utilizing best practices.
- Level 1: Domains of the Thriving Student Model
- Level 2: Annual Unit Assessment Planning
- Level 3: Individual Program or Initiative Assessment
- Level 1 assessment is focused on evaluating the work of Student Affairs as it pertains to the seven domains of the Thriving Student Model (TSM), which seeks to ensure that work to support students’ flourishing benefits students across the spectrums of identities and experiences.
- Data for Level 1 assessment is gathered from multiple sources in order to provide a comprehensive picture. This includes external and institutional student surveys, student engagement tracking through various software systems and platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Fusion, TimelyCare, etc.), and findings from annual unit assessment plans (see Level 2).
