Interns have a minimum .6 teaching position, therefore they are solo teaching or co-teaching in the classroom for at least 4 classes/days, which equates to 4 hours/day or 20 hours a week (which is 720 hours) by the end of the school year (accounting for 180 instructional days). |

Ex. 4.b. Training Materials for Cooperating Teachers and University Supervisors
To train cooperating teachers, in both the Intern and Traditional Preliminary Mild Moderate credential programs, we have a license for PD4MT22, a customizable professional development set of modules developed by the California Council on Teacher Education. Additionally, we provide cooperating teachers with supplemental materials in the Guidelines and Responsibilities for Cooperating Teachers. University supervisors enroll in training provided by the San Diego County Office of Education with additional program/institution information in the Supervisor Handbook.
Ex. 4.c. Handbooks for Supervisors, Cooperating Teachers and Candidates
The Office of Field Experience hosts a field experience and clinical practice resource website that contains documents for candidates such as orientation materials, lesson plan templates, supervised early fieldwork handbooks, supervised clinical practice (student teaching) handbooks, which contains information about the student teaching evaluation process. Additionally, the Office of Field Experience provides handbooks for university supervisors and cooperating teachers. Instructions for teaching 21st Century Skills, using the clinical placement observation platform EdThena and guidelines for managing student disposition issues are on the website as well. Candidates receive Extended Practicum Guidelines and a Student Teaching Handbook. Additionally, we offer candidates orientation sessions for extended practicum and clinical practice (student teaching).
