What is the Center for Embodied Equity and Neurodiversity?

The Center for Embodied Equity and Neurodiversity (CEEN) employs a unique approach. Unlike other programs aimed at “fixing” youth from marginalized identities; this center focuses on empowering educators and child-serving professionals. We prepare these professionals to serve children and young adults at the highest level possible without burning out or exacerbating dysfunctional and oppressive environments.

Our Approach and Impact

We Believe In The Power of Embodied Equity

which entails understanding and addressing the complex intersections of race, gender, neurodiversity, socioeconomic status, and other dimensions of identity.

Marginalization affects learners on a deep neurological level, influencing stress responses, emotional regulation, and cognitive functioning. Yet few professional development programs offer comprehensive training on neurodiversity, trauma-informed practices, and the science behind how systemic biases and social exclusion manifest in educational settings. Through research, advocacy, and innovative educational practices, we strive to create pathways that promote equity, justice, and belonging for all.
