Tabitha Mpamira

Tabitha Mpamira is the visionary founder of Nyaka’s Sexual & Gender-Based Violence program (EDJA) that is working to eradicate sexual violence and domestic abuse in Uganda. She received the prestigious Global Citizen Award in 2018 for her work with EDJA. An invitation soon followed to speak at the Vatican on the issue of abuse prevention and gave a highly popular TEDx talk on intergenerational trauma. Tabitha's work has been captured in a documentary called VICTORS, which has been shown globally including at the UN. Tabitha is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and has also practiced as a mental health therapist for the last 10years, including her work with women survivors of rape during the Rwandan genocide. She is highly trained in intergenerational trauma work, women issues and diversity. She has been recognized as a Hearts on Fire Visionary, Cordes fellow, and outstanding achievement award.
