Malika Jurakulova has more than 13 years of experience working for international organizations and programs. She is currently the Gender Adviser for USAID’s Tajikistan Country Office. She has also worked in USAID’s Gender Office in Afghanistan. Prior to joining USAID in 2012, she worked for projects funded by the European Commission. Mrs. Jurakulova is a civil activist committed to the principles of gender equity and female empowerment. She firmly believes that women and girls, when given access to the right opportunities, are the key to creating positive change in our society. Mrs. Jurakulova is a graduate of the International Relations Department of the Russian-Tajik (Slavic). She was also an exchange student in the United States at Lees-McRae College.
